A Chairde,
Gabhaim buíochas libh as ucht bhur dtacaíochta le linn an téarma. Thank you all for your wonderful support and contribution to the school over the first term.
Éachtaí speisialta: We are so proud of all the achievements of our pupils in school related and extra-curricular events this past few months. Most notably is the fantastic achievement of Senan Mac Domhnaill of Rang a ceathair who qualified for the Connacht schools athletics final and Sean Doggett. Seán went on to represent the school at the All-Ireland championships and represented the school excellently. It is wonderful to see the children coming in on a weekly basis with their various trophies and medals and we love to celebrate their achievements. Please continue to inform the school of the children’s achievements outside of school hours.
Suirbhé ceoil: Thank you all for completing the music information sheet recently. We are now more informed and in a better position to reestablish a Junior and a senior school choir and music group. It is so lovely to see our children participating in the Athenry Music School events. We are delighted that Méabh Mc Kenna (harp teacher) will be offering harp introduction classes in January. I will issue a registration sheet for this in the New year. We have five harps that can be loaned to prospective beginners.
Coiste na dTuistí: We are so delighted that our parents association continue to support the school and we constantly encourage new members to get involved. The last man standing raised 2,300 and Samantha Foran’s flower demonstration raised 1,098 for the school. We hope to have a winner of our last man standing in the near future.
Christmas Community efforts: We are all so proud of children’s community action projects this christmas. Fifth class raised €1,000 euro in their cake sale. The proceeds are to be divided between the school Active Flag initiative and the Simon Community.
Rang a Sé, naíonáin mhóra, rang a hAon agus Rang a Dó raised €550 at their carol singing in Joyces. The proceeds go to a wonderful charity called ‘ To children with love.
Rang a ceathair did us so proud in entertaining the residents of the Skylark centre and our Second and Third classes provided beautiful carol singing to the residents of Castleturvin nursing home. Fair play do na Naíonáin bheaga as ucht an taipeántas álainn a chur siad ar fáil dúinn ar fad. We are so proud of all little naíonáin bheaga and our newly enrolled children who have settled so well to Gaelscoil Riada. Táimid chomh bhródúil astu ar fad.
Comórtas Grianghrafanna– Comhghairdeachas le gach páiste a bhí páirteach. All photos will be uploaded to the school website. It was so difficult to decide on three winners but in the end it came down to three 1. Sophie Jarvis (Rang a Dó) 2. Katie Ní Choibéid (Rang a Trí) agus Lauren Ó Duláin (Rang a ceathair) Maith sibh ar fad.
Tá súil agam go mbeidh Nollaig álainn síochána agaibh ar fad. Tá sos tuillte go maith ag gach duine.
Ag súil le sibh a fheiceáil arís ar an 7ú Eanáir 2019.
Nollaig shona/ Feliz Navidad
